The Thrill of Findom
What is Findom: the basics!
So you’ve heard of Findom and the idea excites you, but what does it entail exactly? Findom is the shorter abbreviation for Financial Domination and it can be roughly described as Domination by way of controlling finances. Controlling of finances can happen in a wide variety of ways, ranging from the general tribute (or financial offering) to controlling all of a finsub’s financial decisions. Generally this happens via submissive or ‘finsub’ gifting significant amounts of money to a Findom model, which involves various different levels of Domination. Submissives in a findom relationship are often referred to as ‘pay pigs’, ‘cash cows’, ‘human ATMs’ or ‘losers’, titles that exemplify aspects of humiliation that can be involved in findom relationships. Interestingly enough however, the thrill of findom has less to do with the transaction and more to do with the level of Domination involved. Some finsubs may seek out a Findom Dominant for a one time Findom session while others will establish consistent relationships with their Findom Dominants; the level of Domination varies. Findom: Beyond the Basics
Even though Findom focuses on the transaction between Dominant and submissive the thrill of findom stems from a power exchange between the two. But why would someone seek out a findom power exchange, and what do they get out of it? The financial exchange between Findom Master or Mistress and finsub represents a power exchange that elicits certain emotional and mental responses from the finsub. In this day and age, money is one of the biggest symbols of power, so a submissive willingly giving away their cash to a Findom Dominant is a representation of the finsub literally giving away their power to the Dominant. A power exchange is established, and the finsub achieves sexual arousal or gratification by way of practicing obedience through tributes and tasks, gaining approval and often being humiliated by the Dominant.
Aspects of Humiliation and/or obedience:
The finsub willingly approaches a findom situation with the intention of giving the Findom Master or Mistress tributes. Finsubs are never manipulated into tributing to their Findom Dominant; it is their willingness to give, to be obedient and please their Dominant that creates a financial domination situation. Someone wise once said that the number one job of the Dominant is to continuously seduce consent from the finsub, consent which for Findom models comes in the form of a tribute. Once a finsub expresses their interest in serving a Findom Dominant via tribute, the proper Dominant will learn about their finsub’s desires and needs; in a perfect scenario a good Findom Dominant will attempt to learn everything they can about a finsub to continuously keep seducing consent and keep the finsub begging for more. For some finsubs, continuously seducing consent involves being humiliated, while for others it involves the ability to worship and gain approval.
Humiliation in a Findom situation happens in a variety of ways, the most obvious instance being a finsub referred to as ‘pay pig’ or other humiliating pet names. For some finsubs, this type of humiliation reduces the ego and the sense of control over power which makes them feel helpless in comparison to their Findom Dominant. For many finsubs, this loss of control and power is an enthralling experience which gives them sexual gratification. Instances of humiliation such as this reinforce the power exchange, associating a finsub’s meaningfulness with their ability to serve their Dominant. The finsub will take pride in being able to complete a task well for their Dominant, often associating their ability to please with their self-worth. Many finsubs who enjoy humiliation idolize their Dominant, putting them on a pedestal above all else. Because for many finsubs, the act of tributing and the levels of humiliation and obedience involved provide an escape from everyday life, an alternate state of consciousness that is generally stress relieving and unconventionally stimulating. And for most finsubs, pleasure and arousal becomes associated with the thrill of obedience and tribute, from being ‘drained’ or ‘rinsed’ of their power and control.
Findom: The Mental
Findom is as mentally affecting as it is physically and financially affecting, so much so that the mental aspect may be the core of the Findom experience. The mental arousal in findom becomes associated with the physical arousal which becomes associated with paying and pleasing a findom Dominant, like a domino effect. The feeling of submitting and tributing to a Findom Dominant can feel freeing and insanely erotic, a physical arousal which becomes associated with erotic fulfillment. The erotic fulfillment then becomes associated with mental and emotional fulfillment; pleasing the Findom Dominant and receiving that sense of approval satiates the mental and emotional appetite.
The combination of physical and mental/emotional fulfillment and the association of those things to consistently tributing and pleasing a Findom Dominant are the foundation of long term Findom relationships. Findom’s atypical idea of erotic fulfilment paired with an emotional fulfilment that many finsubs lack are the ingredients that create a findom fetishist. The physical arousal accompanied by submission and sometimes humiliation provides instant gratification, while the mental and emotional arousals are what keep the finsub begging for more.
